Lucy Liu, an American voice actor, producer and performer is also an actress. Lucy Liu is a smart and charming actress. A lot of Asian actors had dreams of becoming famous in Hollywood. Through a succession of appearances in some popular series she gained fame by joining the cast of the show Legal Comedy Ally McBeal where she played the villainous Ling Woo. Her fame exploded into film roles such as Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. The actress also gave a superb performance as Japanese criminal lord O'RenIshii in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. In the meantime, she also played leading roles in several films that failed at the box office, such as Rise: Blood Hunter. Then she began voicing characters from animated movies like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Mia Mason's role in Cashmere Mafia, a small screen production, didn't result in any satisfactory results. Southland, a critically acclaimed series of police dramas which included Liu in regular roles, helped her reestablish herself. Liu selects her roles with utmost care so that she does not get cast in an industry that is competitive. She has accepted her Chinese background, but doesn't let it restrict her creativity.
