Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic who is also a public speaking event organizer. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency which is a website that features videos and comments on the representations of women in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian was a Canadian and American feminist media critic. Feminist Frequency, a website to educate women about their role in the narratives of pop culture was the result of her research. The site also has the director of operations. She's committed to removing stereotypes about women and how they are portrayed in popular culture. Furthermore she aims to create the awareness of harassment on social media targeted at women, and other those who are marginalized. Sarkeesian has a degree in social thought and politics at York University. She is also an internationally acclaimed public speaking. Sarkeesian has given speeches at the TEDxWomen Festival as well as to the United Nations Broadband Working Group. Feminist Frequency was founded in the year 2009 by Sarkeesian. an undergraduate student at York University who had been interested in issues related to gender and feminism for quite a considerable period of time. The ebullient young woman was targeted on the internet for her website series on gender in videogames. The harassment didn't dissuade her. It only strengthened her as a feminist journalist. She has won numerous awards to recognize her prominent contributions to the field of feminism. Anita Sarkeesian was a multi-award award-winning media journalist. She also serves as the founder and director of Feminist Frequency a nonprofit educational organization that explores pop culture representations of females.
